Think Green ・ Think ISNA

Going green is an initiative that aligns with our Islamic morals and the teachings of our prophet PBUH. When Allah created Adam, he referred to him as a successive authority on earth, a khalifa. We are therefore held accountable for every action although we often forget our impact on the well-being of the planet and the importance of this cause in our religion. We also forget that we share this planet with other creatures that are being harmed by our actions. Our prophet taught us that we shouldn’t harm, nor should we reciprocate harm. (لا ضرر و لا ضرار)

So join us in an eco-friendly convention as we take steps towards a cleaner and sustainable environment! Look out for our recycling and compost stations, and get some green knowledge. We encourage you to ask your neighbours if they are coming to the convention so you can carpool and reduce the impact of car emissions on the atmosphere. We’ll be setting up water stations around the centre so let’s all say no to plastic bottles! Plastic is non-biodegradable and ends the lives of many species that choke on it, so the next time you go shopping remember the Godly order, “Do not spread corruption or commit abuse on earth,” and use reusable bags. (ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين)

See you at the convention InShaaAllah!
